Volume 2 - Awakening

Glorious Trainwrecks (https://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com) is a website that celebrates the weirder side of indie games - janky unpolished games, games with highly unusual art styles or mechanics, tiny games made in a few hours. In late 2009, I signed up there and started participating in their monthly "Klik of the Month" game jams, where participants are challenged to make a game in just two hours. Often I went an hour or two (or three) over the time limit, but I made a ton of games this way, exploring a lot of weird ideas and developing my style.

I also did the Ludum Dare game jam (https://ldjam.com) a few times, notably resulting in the game "Cat Planet" which is probably my most popular and well-known game.

Klik of the Month started to happen less frequently over the years, as did my participation in it, and by 2014 I had mostly shifted to making small games when I felt like it instead of for game jams. 

At the end of 2014, I released Cute Jump, the first long-term project I'd attempted in several years. It took about 10 months to make. After that, I was feeling kind of burnt out when it came to game development....
